Joule narrows list for pilot plant to five towns; seeks CTO
In Texas, Joule Biotechnologies said that it has narrowed potential locations for its pilot facility down to five cities, and made a recent presentation to the Leander City Council, which is on the list. The City Council OKd a letter of support for the company, which has previously established a laboratory in San Marcos and said it intended to commence construction of its pilot plant in the first quarter of next year.
Meanwhile, Joule is also seeking to hire a Chief Technical Officer, responsible for “the development of (a) multiple production organisms targeting specific products of interest; and (b) a clear roadmap for further optimization via efficiency and productivity gains, contamination avoidance, and integration with key bioprocessing requirements such as thermal tolerance, light regimes, and nutrient balance.”
