In the UK, Souter Investments announced that it has acquired a minority stake in biodiesel producer Argent Energy from Cinven. Argent, which will shortly open a 2.6 million pre-=processing plant at its Lanarkshire facility, also received investment from the firm’s managing director, Jim Walker, and finance director Jim Boyd.
Argent, which was recognized with a Sustainable Producer award at World Biofuels Markets earlier this year, produces 45,000 metric tons of biodiesel per year at its plant in Motherwell, Scotland, using waste fats, oils and greases as feedstock.
