In Colorado, Biofuel Energy reported $108 million in sales for the second quarter of 2009, with a net loss of $3 million, after reporting corn feedstock costs of $79 million. The company noted the narrow crush spread that drove it into the red. The company also noted that it had recorded $19.1 million in net liquidated damages for construction delays atethanol production facilities in Fairmont, MN and Wood River, NE, as part of a resolution of a dispute that arose with contractor TIC.
