US ethanol production rises 18 percent in June 2009 over one year ago

In Washington, the Energy Information Administration reports that US ethanol production increased to 694,000 barrels per day in June 2009, up 109,000 barrels per day from June 2008. This equates to 874.5 million gallons. The EPA is also reporting fuel imports of 29.5 million gallons of ethanol for the month of June. Overall, ethanol stocks dropped to 583.9 million gallons, or 19.3 days of reserves, according to the Renewable Fuels Association.
