In North Carolina, the 2009 N.C. Green Business Fund awarded $50,000 for a Greater Charlotte Region Biofuel Facility that will develop a facility to convert brown grease —± or trap grease — into biofuel.

The state fund provides assistance for biofuels, energy efficiency and cleantech purposes.
