In Canada, the 45 Mgy Greenfield corn bioethanol plant at Johnstown, Ontario went officially operational.
The facility, which received $119 million in federal support out of a total budget of $170 million, is Greenfield Ethanol’s fourth operational plant in Canada and third in Ontario, bringing the company’s total capacity to 120 Mgy. The plant becomes Greenfield’s single-largest facility to date. An additional facility is planned for Hensall, Ontario.
