Tanzanian waste veggie oil biodiesel plant opens with 137,000 gallon capacity

In Tanzania, Mafuta Sasa Ltd  has commenced production biodiesel from waste vegetable oil, with a current capacity of 137,000 gallons that will increase to to 205,000 gallons is sufficient feedstock can be aggregated.

The company said that it is collecting feedstock from local hotels, and will produce premiums soaps fro the local market using the glycerine left over from the transesterification process. The company said it plans to potentially import WVO from Zanzibar and overseas to meet local demand.
