Sen. Harkin offers amendment to eliminate international indirect land use change as Renewable Fuel Standard criteria

In Washington, Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa offered an amendment to the funding bill for the Interior Department and EPA that would eliminate indirect land use change from consideration in greenhouse gas emissions standards for biofuels.

In related news, Senator David Vitter of Louisiana offered an amendment that would bar any regulation of carbon dioxide emissions by the EPA until China and India agree in international treaties to reduce their CO2 emissions by the same percentage as the United States.
