In Colombia, Prodigy Capital and GPC Group announced at the Clinton Global Initiative meeting in New York that they will finance and construct a $130 million 33 Mgy cassava-based ethanol plant using feedstock grown on marginal lands. The group announced that they will commence with a 2 Mgy cassava ethanol module and expand, as well as adding additional 33 Mgy plants as economic conditions permit.
