In Egypt, the state news agency is reporting that the Ministry of Agriculture is sponsoring a 207-acre jatropha trial in the Red Sea Hurghada province.
The focus of the trial is to determine whether the feedstock can be sustainably produced in the semi-arid district. Population growth has led the Egyptian government to increase efforts to explore biofuels as an an alternative fuel technology.
