Powers Energy selects Indiana site for $285 million waste-to-ethanol project

In Indiana, Powers Energy of America announced that it has selected a Lake County site near Schneider for a proposed $285 million Make County waste-to-ethanol project.  The project is proposed to process 10,000 tons of refuse per day from Lake County and the surrounding region, including the Chicago area.

The company said that it rejected possible sites Crown Point and Lowell after local opposition from residents and business.
