“Biofuel” pays big: Canadian filly wins $150,000 in Mazarine Stakes

In a year not noted for stunning returns from biofuels investments, Biofuel paid off big in Ontario. In this case, the filly Biofuel, who paid $48.20 to punters and $150,000 for her owners in winning the $241,200 Mazarine Stakes at Woodbine, by 4-1/2 lengths. The filly, who ran fourth in her most recent outing at Keeneland, clocked a fast 1.44.47 for the 1-1/16 mile event.
