Today in Biofuels Opinion: “The Natural Resource Defense Council is just posturing themselves and their regulatory buddies.”

Adam Morgan, Environmental and Energy Consultant: “The Natural Resource Defense Council is just posturing themselves and their regulatory buddies to make more money and more unmandated taxes.  They should agree that GHG mitigation, domestic energy production and water conservation is more important than their own profit and political gain.  It just goes to show that even the groups that call themselves for the good of all are only out for the good of their own.”

Missouri Corn Growers Association Chief Executive Officer Gary Marshall: “[The GAO report on ethanol tax credits] was requested by Senator Barbara Boxer from California and Senator Collins from Maine, neither of whom are traditionally ethanol or biofuel supporters. I think sometimes politics gets in the way of the GAO coming out with a good study. I would continue to argue that the ethanol industry is a new, fledgling industry that has less than 10 percent of the market today. The only way that we’ve been able to penetrate that market is through either a government requirement or the use of subsidies.”
