In Washington, Growth Energy is distributing copies of new reports that it says challenge the “flawed, unproven and unscientific concept” of international indirect land use change.’
Growth Energy’s package of reports include: New research from Monsanto showing that advanced seeds will boost corn yields as high as 300 bushels per acre by 2030, demonstrating that additional acres will not be needed to meet corn and soy demand; new evidence from Oak Ridge National Laboratory which Growth Energy said contradicted the disputed models and assumptions for ILUC; and new updated land-use data from Purdue showing indirect land-use emissions 20 percent lower than the previous model used by the California Air Resources Board.
