In Brazil, ETH Bioenergia announced that it has signed a three year agreement with Braskem to supply 40 million gallons of ethanol to the petrochemical giant. ETH’s management said that the off-take deal would take effect in the second half of 2010.
ETH, which is a subsidiary of Odebrecht and reportedly is in merger talks with fellow ethanol developer Brenco, will open its new ethanol plant in Mato Grosso do Sul state, and will open another new plant in Sao Paulo state before the end of the month.
