National Algae Association to gather in Tennessee for workshop on open pond production

In Tennessee, the National Algae Association will present a workshop hosted by its Mid-South chapter, in Memphis on November 18-19, 2009.  The workshop is entitled Algae: Exploring Open Pond Production Opportunities and includes a field trip to an open pond system located outside Memphis.

At its September meeting in Texas, the NAA presented quarterly Algaeprenuer awards to Cyclone Power Technologies and Algae Venture Systems. Cyclone received the award for its heat regenerative, Rankine cycle engine, an efficient and earth-friendly modern steam engine capable of running on virtually any fuel, while  Algae Venture Systems was recognized for its development of low energy separation technology to harvest, dewater and dry (HDD) microalgae.
