In China, renewables pioneer ENN said that it has launched its pilot scale algal fuels project, gasifying coal underground for CO2 capture and using the gas as feedstock for algal production. ENN’s management said that the company would commence construction of a demonstration-scale plant by late 2010, and will scale to commercial capacities commencing in 2013.
