In Iowa, Growth Design announced that it will construct a 4 Mgy biodiesel plant Forest City using reactors based on the Mcgyan process. The Mcgyan reactor is a new continuous flow technology that has a much smaller footprint than a traditional biodiesel reactor, and will utilize waste and corn oil among feedstocks.
“We plan to run the commercial biodiesel plant as a for-profit business, and integrate it with the conference center where we’ll also use solar, wind and geothermal energy,” the company told Biodiesel Magazine.
