Odebrecht says Angolan ethanol plant to open in 2010

In Angola, Brazil’s Odebrecht said that its Biocom joint venture with state oil company Sonangol, and Damer, will open is long-awaited sugar and ethnaol plant in Malenge province next year. The project is under construction on a 70,000 acre plantation about 240 miles east of Luanda. The processing plant is expected to produce 260,000 tonnes of sugar and 7 Mgy of ethanol, and will burn the bagasse fro power generation for the facility.
