In Arizona, Diversified Energy announced it completed key milestones in an advanced gasification development program sponsored by the DOE’s National Energy Technology Laboratory. The 24-month, $945,000 grant is focused on the design and demonstration of a one ton per day OmniGas gasifier to process biomass, coal.
OmniGas uses molten slag to produce syngas that can be used by over 14,000 U.S. industrial consumers of large volumes of natural gas. The gasifier can utilize biomass, municipal solid waste, petroleum coke, and coals as feedstocks, and produces a relatively tar-free and oil-free syngas that requires less downstream clean-up equipment.
