BP to establish joint venture with Verenium for cellulosic ethanol; invests additional $22.5 million

In Massachusetts, BP has invested an additional $22.5 million in Verenium and formed a joint venture with the cellulosic ethanol pioneer to commercialize Verenium’s cellulosic ethanol technology.

BP, Berkeley alliance funded $20 million in R&D projects in first year

In California, the Daily Cal released a review of research progress from the $500 million UC Berkeley research deal with BP. The director of the Energy Biosciences Center, DR. DuPont confirms pilot biobutanol, cellulosic ethanol plants in ‘09; “commercial biotechnology package” by ‘10

DuPont confirmed that its two DuPont BioFuels projects, in cellulosic ethanol and biobutanol, are on track towards commercialization.
