Oregon’s Marion County becomes first to offer regular residential pickup of waste cooking oil for biodiesel

In Oregon, Marion County will become the first county in the nation to commence regular pickup of residential waste cooking oil, for processing into biodiesel. Other programs for residential WVO, including San Francisco, require consumer drop-off of grease, while Cary, NC has a seasonal pick-up service. The WVO will be converted by SeQuential into biodiesel.

Feds award $45K to Clarksville, Tennesee for WVO-based biodiesel conversion

In Tennessee, the city of Clarksville has received a $45,000 federal air quality grant to assist in its plans to collect 1,300 gallons per week of cooking oil from local restaurants, which it will convert into biodiesel for its own utility department and the city transit bus fleet.
