Project Engineer

Mission of the Role

Kiverdi is looking for an organized, self – starter Project Engineer. The person in this role will be
responsible for coordinating, planning, and scheduling the technical and management aspects
of projects. This individual is a key technical person on projects on which they are assigned.

Kiverdi is on a mission to enable the large-scale transformation of carbon dioxide into high-
value products, making the sustainable production of everyday goods a reality. To do this,
Kiverdi is commercializing a NASA-inspired technology that uses microorganisms to convert
carbon dioxide (with other simple mineral nutrients and gases) into raw materials for daily
consumables, such as food, clothes, personal care items, industrial goods and ultimately,
biofuels. We are passionate about changing the world. We are looking for a Project Engineer

● Develop the general plan for a project, prepare a budget estimate and obtain
approval for the plan.
● Coordinate contracting engineering services in accordance with good Engineering
and safety practices, governmental regulation, plant specifications, applicable codes
and underwriter requirements. Coordinate the activities of consulting firms when
● Initiate procurement of materials and communicates with Purchasing, vendors and
stores to control expediting and receiving of material.
● Direct designers, check drawings and submit for approval.
● Coordinate field installation, inspect and accept work. Prepare contractors
information list and reviews it periodically to check the performance of each
● Collect and distribute Engineering data and instructions for each specific project.
● Provide required engineering services and technical knowledge for the application of
new or different processes, equipment, and materials to existing production units to
improve production rates, quality, lower production cost, or to improve equipment
● Fully support Company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence
at strategic and tactical levels including reviewing area of responsibility for
improvement opportunities to initiate projects or communicate ideas to
management as well active participation on projects teams.
● Should be able and willing to handle a number of other tasks like equipment design,
procurement. ‘Nice to have’ drafting/autocad, etc.

● 5+ years experience in chemical or biotech industries
● 7+ years of experience as a PM
● Proficient in Microsoft office
● Excellent written and verbal skills.
● Solid understanding of unit operations with experience in both batch and continuous
chemical plant processes
● Manufacturing equipment knowledge including reactors, heat exchangers, piping, and
pumps and pumping systems, boilers, cooling systems and technical drawing
● Strong knowledge of process technology and equipment, process modeling and
statistical process control, basic engineering principles and regulatory compliance
● Prior experience with MOC and PHA processes, PFD’s, P&ID’s, developing process
● Experience with leading, managing and executing capital projects at all phases from
start of project definition to start up and commissioning.
● Basic engineering principles and regulatory compliance knowledge
● Computer literacy, specifically MS Excel, and project management software
● Experience with multiple discipline projects
● Safety Training
● PMP is a plus


● BS Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical is preferred)
