Brazil to invest $300M in Ghana

In Ghana, Brazil’s Ambassador, Luis Fernando Serra stated in an interview with City & Business Guide that the Brazilian Government will be constructing a $300 million sugar cane facility to produce 100,000 cubic meters of ethanal and 42 MWe from the resulting bagasses.

The plant, to be situated in Makango, with 2,700 hectares, will use 7 MWe to run the plant while selling the remaining 35 MWe to local utility companies.  In response to questions, Serra stated that due to the contribution of African slaves in South America, in particular their labor in the mines and on the plantations, Brazil was indebted to Africa.
