Florida jatropha project snagged over siting issues

In Florida, Ag-Oil is running into opposition for its oil seed crushing plant that it wants to develop in Palm Beach county. Residents have already approved growing jatropha on the allotted 103 acres but they believe the crushing plant would be better suited in a port or airport area because of its industrial nature. Ag-Oil’s request for a zoning change is scheduled to be heard by the Palm Beach County Commission in January.
