Steven Chu intends to stay on as DOE chief

In Washington, Energy Secretary Steven Chu attempted to quell rumors of his imminent departure by granting an interview with Platts in which he declared his intention to stay on as DOE chief as long as President Obama wanted him. In recent weeks, the DOE press office has also been hard at work arranging for a puff piece in the Washington Post. Chu told Platts that “In terms of it being spent well and wisely I think that, on the vast majority of things, no one can call us up and say we didn’t do the kind of job the American public deserved.”
