Mad Dog Mulching developing 110 million gallon Florida corn ethanol project

January 4, 2011 |

In Florida, Mad Dog Mulching of Tampa are developing a corn ethanol facility at a former fish farm in south Hillsborough County. Thought the project is still in its due diligence stage, the project developers have already received permission from the county’s Environmental Protection Commission to fill hundreds of old fish ponds while exempting them from mitigating wetlands they destroy by building another wetland or buying credits in a wetlands mitigation bank.

The project would produce ethanol from 40 million bushels a year, which the developers want to see from 210,000 acres of Florida’s farms.
