January 12, 2011 |

In Minnesota, Green Plains Renewable Energy plans to buy a 55 million gallon per year ethanol facility near Fergus Falls from bankrupt Omaha-based Otter Tail Ag Enterprises. Otter Tail Ag Enterprises went into  bankruptcy in 2009.

There is an asset auction set for the facility in 60 days, and Green Plains, if  successful in its bid, would thereby raise its operating capacity to 712 million gallons per year at nine ethanol plants.
