Nebraska promoting itself for cattle, due to low-cost feed from ethanol production

In Nebraska, the state’s Department of Agriculture is promoting Nebraska nationwide as a destination for cattlemen to send their calves to be fed because of the availability of good and cheap feedstuffs thanks to access to DDGS from more than two dozen ethanol plants statewide. Ethanol is included in the state’s “Golden Triangle” along with livestock and corn.
