Defense Department calls for presentations on drop-in biofuels, waste-to-energy technologies

In Washington, the Defense Venture Catalyst Initiative (DeVenCI) will conduct a workshop April 25-26, 2011 in McLean, VA to help discover emerging technologies relevant to the United States Navy’s Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy.

The workshop will provide selected innovative companies who do not normally conduct business with the Department of Defense with an opportunity to make short presentations to Navy and DoD representatives about their technologies and products.

DeVenCI is looking for companies who have potential solutions in the following areas:

Drop-in alternative fuel technologies (bio-fuels) a. Capable of 50/50 blend b. Backward compatible with existing systems.

Waste to Energy Technologies 1. Gasification/Pyrolysis technologies 2. Anaerobic decomposition technologies 3. Plasma Arc technologies.

Selected companies will be responsible for their travel and all other expenses associated with participation in this workshop which will be held April 25- 26, 2011.
