UK's Vivergo signs 500 farmers for wheat supply

In England, Frontier Agriculture, the company charged with supplying feedstock to the Vivergo biofuels plant in Hull has signed more than 500 farmers to the “Humber Gold wheat club.”

The Vivergo plant is a joint venture between BP, British Sugar and Dupont that they expect to begin production later this year, and is looking for 130 lorryloads of feedstock a day.  Humber Gold club manager, Mike Ayers stated, “With more than 500 farmers on board, and more calling us to sign every day, we’ll be ready to supply the 130 lorryloads of grain that’s required daily when production begins.”
