US Marines increase biofuels use in Afghanistan

In Afghanistan, the US Marines are slowly but surely sourcing cottonseed oil from cotton gins in Helmond and surrounds to produce biodiesel for electricity generation at the Camp Leatherneck Marines base. The Marine Corps’ new expeditionary energy report released Monday says Marines must cut their fuel usage by 50% by 2025.
