Preem launches wood residue-based Evolution Diesel in Sweden

May 4, 2011 |

In Sweden, Preem’s Evolution Diesel that includes 15% biodiesel produced from a forestry industry waste residue known as tall oil and 5% canola-based biodiesel has been launched in 370 of the country’s 600 gas stations as of early April. It reduces GHG emissions by 16% compared to 100% fossil diesel—roughly 250,000 metric tons of carbon per year, the equivalent of taking 120,000 cars off the road.
