Sea Scouts convert mine sweeper launch to biodiesel

In Oregon, word comes of Portland area Sea Scouts converting a mine sweeper launch to biodiesel.  The Tsunami Sea Scout group just won the position of National Flagship, an award given to one ship of over 500 in the national Sea Scout program.  O

ne of several reasons that the Tsunami team won was their work with Heritage High School’s biodiesel program to convert their retired 36 foot mine sweeping launch to biodiesel.  The idea for the conversion came from the teenage crew.
