India's Assam State plugging jatropha

In India, the Assam state government has held 26 training sessions for farmers trying to encourage them to grow jatropha on unused land for biodiesel production.

The state’s department of agriculture is undertaking its own production project with 137.4ha to use as a demonstration project to help support local uptake of the crop.
