In Kuwait, the National Petroleum Company’s (KNPC) new Chairman of the Board and Managing Director announced two new projects including a new oil refinery and biofuel plant. He noted that that the biofuel project will allow the Kuwaiti refineries to be able to manufacture oil products in accordance with global standards, while the refinery aims to produce low-sulfur transport fuel.

KNPC also stated these projects will increase conservation efforts in Kuwait, improve derivatives, and maximize profits, as one of the most important goals of the two projects is to increase Kuwait’s refining capacity up to 1.4 million barrels per day.
