Nexsun still mulling $100M ethanol project in Kansas

October 27, 2011 |

In Kansas, hopes that California-based Nexsun Corp. will build a $100 million ethanol plant in Ulysses remain despite a 2.5 year halt in construction.

The project is reliant on foreign investment, investors who are seeking visas due to their investment. Even though another company is interested to build a milk processing facility on the land Nexsun has prepared, the company says it has no interest in selling the property and plan to have financing in place for mid-2012. The project also had a twin biodiesel plant planned alongside but nothing has moved forward on that aspect either.
