Biofuels Digest Index advances to 74.65 as ethanol soars

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, gained 1.10 percent to 74.65 as ethanol soared. For the day, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) jumped 2.91 percent to $29.37, while Biofuel Energy (BIOF) soared 20.93 percent to $0.52. Among other equities, Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) rocketed up 33.96 percent to $0.71. Overall, advances led declines 4 to 1 for the day.
