Addax Bioenergy breaks ground on sugarcane ethanol project in Sierra Leone

In Sierra Leone, Addax Bioenergy hosted the ground breaking ceremony for its energy and agriculture project near Makeni, in Sierra Leone.  The project started in 2008, and includes development of a greenfield sugarcane plantation, and construction of both an ethanol plant and a biomass electrical power plant.  When at full production in 2014, the project will process 1 million tons of sugarcane, produce 15MWe for the national grid and just under 23.8 MGy of ethanol.
