A Day in the Life of Biofuels, 2011: First Prize image (#10)

November 23, 2011 |

FIRST PRIZE: Wheat straw fresh out of a baler in Southern Wisconsin.  A wide array of agricultural and forestry residues are high in cellulose and have the potential to be an economic source of feedstock for the production of biofuels.

Biofuels Digest adds: “An image from Wisconsin that typifies the globe – the daily task of harvesting the biomass, from which the magic of bio-processing proceeds. But more than a great subject, a nicely balanced image with color contrast and good composition.”
