Gevo's isobutanol-gasoline mix better than E15, says NMMA

In Colorado, the National Marine Manufacturers Association released a report stating that isobutanol-gasoline blend is superior to E15 fuel for boaters.  The NMMA used isobutanol supplied by Gevo, comparing a 16.1 percent isobutanol blend to indolene, the standard gasoline used for engine testing, finding a reduction in C0 emissions.

The testing also showed that unlike ethanol-blended gasoline, isobutanol blends do not cause phase separation when water enters a boat’s fuel system.
