Construction starts at new Alberta ethanol plant

In Canada, construction at the $50 million grain-based ethanol plant in Hairy Hill, Alberta has begun. When completed, the facility will produce 1MW of electricity from biogas in addition to 40 million liters of ethanol from 110,000 tons of grain. About 120,000 tons of manure will be treated at the biogas facility that will also produce 10,000 tons of fertilizer.
