Dung Quat ethanol plant debuts in Vietnam

February 7, 2012 |

In Vietnam, the $95.2 million ethanol plant in Dung Quat in Quang Ngai province has churned out its first batch of ethanol following 33 months of construction and start-up. About 10% of the plant’s 100 million liter annual production will supply the domestic E5 blending mandate while the rest will be exported to the region.

The facility will run at about 65% capacity for its first month of operations and is set to be handed over to its investor, the Central Petroleum Bio-ethanol Joint Stock Company, by the end of next month.
