UK’s Serious Fraud Office investigates Sustainable AgroEnergy

March 29, 2012 |

In the UK, the government’s Serious Fraud Office is investigating Sustainable AgroEnergy, a company that claims to invest in jatropha biofuels production in South East Asia under an unregulated collective investment program but does not likely have the capacity to do so in volumes large enough to secure a return for investors who got roped into the scheme. The SFO has already succeeded in getting business and personal assets frozen while it investigates.
