Codexis lands key renewable sugars patent

In California, Codexis has been awarded U.S. Patent No. 8,143,050, “Recombinant Beta-Glucosidase Variants for Production of Soluble Sugars from Cellulosic Biomass”.

Peter Strumph, Interim Chief Executive Officer, stated, “This patent covers an enzyme group essential in the conversion of cellulosic biomass to fermentable sugars, which can subsequently be used for the production of a wide range of cellulosic biofuels.”
