In Ohio, researchers from the University of Cincinnati, who have teamed with Bluegrass Biodiesel and the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati, are exploring the collection of tap grease from Cincinnati’s sewers as possible feedstock for biodiesel production. The results of the project’s first phase will be presented at the EPA’s 2012 National Sustainable Design Expo next week while the second phase will include a pilot plant capable of producing 100 gallons per day.
