UK farmers lash out at government over poor biofuels planning

In the UK, the National Farmers Union has lashed out at the government for what it calls poor policy making in the area of biofuels because despite concerted efforts by domestic farmers to met EU sustainability criteria, the vast majority of biofuels used in the country remains sourced from foreign feedstock. For 2010/11, less than a quarter of biofuels used in the UK came from domestic production.
