Verbio to expand straw to gas project in Germany

May 3, 2012 |

In Germany, Verbio is in talks with the government to expand its straw-to-gas project. It has already earmarked $198 million for building two straw-to-gas projects, one each in Germany and Hungary by 2014, while expanding its existing project that came online last month. The company claims it was a world’s first. Already 50 gas stations in Germany are selling Verbio’s biomethane and the company is working to increase infrastructure nationally in order to reach the 90,000 cars in the country that can use the fuel.
