Biofuels Digest Index plunges 2.42 percent to 65.23

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, plummeted 2.42 percent to 65.23 as renewables sunk and global equities withered. For the day, Amyris (AMRS) plunged 21.34 percent to $1.99, which is less market value than the company’s cash on hand as of its most recently ended quarter, while Solazyme (SZYM) fell 4.23 percent to $9.74 despite record revenues in its first quarter report. Among other equities, OriginOil (OOIL) jumped 19.72 percent to $1.70. Overall, declines led advances 7 to 1 for the day.
