Bangalore Airport wins Green certification for alternative fuels, water conservation

In India, Bangalore International Airport Limited is the first company in India to be certified as ‘green’ by the Confederation of Indian Industry’s Green Build Council, receiving a GreenCo Silver rating.

The certification recognizes a series of green initiatives, including its successful water conservation program and recent partnership with the Karnataka State Biofuel Development Board (KSBDB) to adopt alternative fuels at the airport. BIAL’s solid waste management system and landscaping initiatives have also won national acclaim over the past year.
